Jan Ankiersztajn wins the Electrolux Design Lab 2012 with his Aeroball project

October 25th saw the prize-giving of the Electrolux Design Lab 2012 in Milan, this year oriented on the theme of ‘the sensory experience associated with design’.

The winner of this edition, young Polish man Jan Ankiersztajn won over the jury with his Aeroball project, a collection of little bubbles that flutter about while purifying and perfuming the air. They float with helium and drift towards the ground when they are ready to be changed.

The second prize, handed out to Ben de la Roche – New Zealand – rewards the concept of a refrigerated wall, which allows the user to insert containers and bottles directly into the wall. Impress uses thermo-acoustic technology and gases such as argon and helium, which are harmless to the environment.

The third prize-winner finally, which also received the audience award, was Tastee by Christopher Holm-Hanson – Denmark -. The principle: a taste indicator that takes the shape of a spoon and uses receivers based on human taste to serve notice of what ingredients are missing in order to improve your dish.

Créer un mobilier sculptural, avec des formes organiques, pouvoir réaliser un mobilier qui devienne un objet unique, un mobilier qui ne laisse pas indifférent, c’est un peu l’esprit de Binome...
