Launch of the first Yookô Award during Reciprocity Design Liege 2012
Yooko.fr intensifies its international engagement with designers on the occasion of RECIPROCITY Design Liege 2012, which takes place from 5 to 28 October.
In awarding the first Yookô prize on Thursday 4 October 2012 during the inauguration of the event, Yookô, the first e-magazine and professional network exclusively dedicated to design and interior architecture, wants to remind us of the fundamental design values it shares with RECIPROCITY.
The new name of the Liege International Design Biennial, RECIPROCITY, wishes to emphasise and recall the strong elements that define an « ethic of design »: exchange, respect and generosity. The RECIPROCITY and YOOKÔ teams therefore joined up on this common base, a socially responsible vision of design, from which was born the desire to create the first Yookô Award.
The award, which will be presented at the inauguration of RECIPROCITY, aims to express this common will to strive for the sharing, the meeting of know-hows and the creation of lasting change processes for the benefit of all stakeholders.
The jury is composed of Giovanna Massoni, artistic director of RECIPROCITY Design Liege 2012, Audrey Brès, Director of Yooko.fr and William Béchet, editor-in-chief of Yooko.fr.
The winner of the Yookô Award, chosen among the designers featured in the MEMORABILIA, designing souvenirs exhibition, will join the Yookô Network for a whole year, a professional network of highly selected members, which deeply believe in the power of collaborative dynamics and the preservation of exceptional know-hows.
The trophy, designed by Pierre-Alexandre Loy, artistic director of Yookô, was edited by Applymage, a company that embodies excellence in the field of acrylic glass-working.
