Maison & Objet Inspirations # 3 – At the heart of matter

Interface, Haymann Editions, Metylos, WeWood & Binome… After volumes #1 and #2, here’s the final part of our ‘Inspirations’ selection from the latest Maison & Objet show, which is dedicated to materials…

1. The art of biomimetics – the shapes and textures of nature are the inspiration for the new Urban Retreat collection of carpet tiles by Interface (here are the ‘Bark’ and ‘Moss’ models), as always with a search for maximal use of recycled materials.

2. Oak, Aluminium, Cork or Marble… The stylish Marie lamp is all about noble materials – Design by Toni Grilo for Haymann Editions.

3. Felt is the favourite material of editor Metylos, which we presented during the latest Milan show with the Monsieur F. suspension by Florent Degourc – Ornella lamp (felt + turned wood, price 165 Euros) by Florent Bouhey Fayolle and Berthe shelf (felt + MDF from 95 Euros) by Claire Ducasse and Julia Mabille.

4. The cream of Portuguese designers was there for WEWOOD, a new editory house that works on French oak trees with its outstanding artisan cabinetmakers – XI bookcase and Semaforo lamp by Gonçalo Campos, Rio buffet by WeWood Design Center.

5. The neat alliance of solid wood and resin for the Duo stools by Binome, Outdoor & Indoor guaranteed… Fun and colorful!
