The piKs Design agency signs ‘Je’, the first furniture collection by Elpé – Kortrijk 2012

After a noticed premiere at France Design during the latest Milan show,  new French editor Elpé wasg presenting its entire collection at the Biennale Interieur 2012 in Kortrijk.

A local of the region – the factory is based in Halluin, close to the Belgian border – Elpé practised its scales in the fitting out of commercial spaces before diversifying its activity. In this first collection we find all the crafting know-how developed by the firm over several years in the field of artistic ironwork and woodwork.

Entrusted in its entirety to the piKs Design agency of the Christine Cordelette, Pierrick & Sylvain Taillard trio, the ‘Je’ collection – sofa, chair, armchair, table, pedestal table, console, commode – gives off a beautiful coherence. Graphic, colourful and generous, it proposes a well chosen customisation in terms of colours, coatings and even sizes…

Our favourites: the low fireside chair, from which rears up an elegant lamp, and the console that provides a nice setting for the series of built-in trays, one of the ‘gimmicks’ of this first collection.
