Tourillon – First collection for new French editor Les Elémentaires – Paris Design Week preview

Young French editor of objects and furniture, Les Elémentaires will launch its first collection – Tourillon – at the very prominent Artisan Social Designer gallery (68, rue des Gravilliers – Paris III), from 8 to 16 September as part of the Paris Design Week.

Co-founder of the project along with Irène Berthezène & Marie Smaniotto, designer Jean Couvreur also signs several pieces of this collection, sensitively and poetically exploring the trunnion, this cylindrical piece of wood of different diameters, which only exists once it has been assembled.

Side table Linette is composed of two superposed beech disks, mechanically blocked (no glue or screws) by the three angled pins that make up the table legs. As for the Pantin table mat, it reveals a nice functionality thanks to its elastic lace whose fastening lodges into a precious engraved copper sleeve.

Alongside the creations by Jean Couvreur will also be presented the promising Gummitwist shelf by designer Nino Gülker, and its clever silicone rubber assembly…
